Today your WEA Bargaining Team met with the District for the second time this week to continue negotiations for the 2025–2028 Successor Contract. Check your email for the full details 📩.
✅ Our team opened with a statement and presented a counter to the District’s salary proposal, as well as a draft counter to Article 10 to ensure full employee health coverage.
🔴The District’s counter included:
☑️ 3% increase to the salary scale
☑️One-time retention bonus increase from $2,500 → $3,000
☑️ $500 increase to District health contributions
☑️ Addition of ESL to the DI stipend
☑️ Continued hiring bonus increases
☑️ Restriction on salary movement for members with two consecutive “Unsatisfactory” evaluations
🟢WEA responded with a counter focused on competitive pay and stronger health care support:
✅ 4% increase to the salary scale
✅ One-time retention bonus increase from $3,000 → $5,000
✅ $1,000 increase to District health contributions
✅ Reduced hiring bonus from $10,000 → $7,000
✅ Protections for members with evaluation concerns
